Our group lessons for 2023 have concluded and we will not be offering any more group lesson sessions this summer.  Peruse this page for information on level classes and to get an idea of pricing, but check back in May 2024 to view and sign up for our classes next summer.

 

We still have some availability for private lessons for the 2023 season. Instructors will offer private lessons through the end of September. Reach out sooner rather than later if you're looking for lessons, availability is limited!

Morning Group Lessons

Morning swim lesson sessions run for 5 lessons (Monday-Friday) for 1 week. They take place from 9:45am - 12:00pm.

Evening Group Lessons

All evening swim lesson sessions are 30-minutes long, 5 lessons, and run for 2 weeks: week one is Monday/Wednesday/Friday and week two is Monday/Wednesday. They take place at 5:30pm and 6:00pm. We do not offer competitive stroke during the evening sessions.

Private Lessons

For private lessons, we have you fill out the form below and then we match you with one of our available instructors. You and the instructor work together to schedule your lessons.  We offer 30, 45, or 60 minute lessons. Each lesson can have 1 or 2 swimmers. If you choose to have two swimmers take the lesson, the swimmers must be of similar skill levels.

Parent/Infant/Child

Instructors guide children 3 years old and under and their accompanying adult caregiver (parent, grandparents, or other caregiver) through basic water skills.

Students ages 3-5 work with an instructor on basic water skills and water safety. All skills are assisted. This class is best for students not yet comfortable putting their face in the water.

 

To pass the level students must be able to enter and exit the water and blow bubbles for 3 seconds, unassisted. Students must also be able to glide on their front, roll to their back, and float for 3 seconds on their back, assisted.

Students ages 3-5 work on floating, swimming and kicking motions, treading water, and other skills and water safety skills. This class is best for students who can put their face in the water but may not be comfortable doing skills completely unassisted.

To pass this level students must be able to glide on their front and back, roll from front to back and back to front, float on their front and back, and swim with combined arm and leg action,

Level 1

Level 2

Preschool 3

Students ages 3-5 work on learning to float independently, roll over, crawl stroke, jump in deep water, tread water, and utilize skill combinations. This class is best for students who are able to submerge, try skills unassisted, and are ready to try more complex movements in water.

To pass the level students must be able to enter chest deep water, tread or float for 15 seconds, swim 5 body lengths independently, and front and back float for 15 seconds. All must be done independently.

Students 6+ work on front and back floats, face submersion, breath control, kicking, arm strokes, basic water safety. This class is best for students who are not yet comfortable putting their face in the water or trying skills unassisted.

To pass the level students must be able to submerge completely, learn the front and back float position, and glide on their front.

​

Students 6+ work on Independent floating on front and back, arm strokes, kicking movements, basic treading water motions, water safety skills. This class is best for students who can put their faces in the water and can do some skills, but may not yet be comfortable doing all skills unassisted.

To pass this class students must be able to perform the tread and float motions,  roll front to back and back to front, and swim 5 body lengths.

Students 6+ work on Independent floating on front and back, arm strokes, kicking movements, basic treading water motions, water safety skills. This class is best for students who can put their faces in the water and can do some skills, but may not yet be comfortable doing all skills unassisted.

To pass this class students must be able to do the following skills unassisted: push off from the wall in a streamlined position, jump into deep water, tread or float for 60 seconds, and swim elementary backstroke and front crawl.

Level 3

Students 6+ work on endurance and technique in all six strokes  (butterfly, elementary backstroke, front and back crawl, sidestroke, and breaststroke) and other aquatic skills. This class is best for students who are proficient in all strokes and and are comfortable in deep water. This class refines strokes students have already learned and can do completely unassisted.

To pass this class students must be able to swim 25 yards of front crawl and elementary backstroke, as well as 15 yards of back crawl, side stroke, butterfly, and breaststroke. Students must also be able to perform the survival and back float for 1 minute each, and tread water for 2 minutes.

Level 4

Competitive stroke lessons help swimmers improve endurance, speed, and efficiency. These classes are for competitive or potential competitive swimmers who can already swim 25 yards of butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle. Competitive Stroke swim lessons will also include turns, finishes, and starts from the starting blocks. These classes are taught by WSI certified instructors who have swum competitively and have participated in Washington's Swim and Dive State Championships.

Group Lesson Classes

We offer classes based on the Red Cross Learn-To-Swim program. These classes are divided into three basic categories:  Parent/Infant/Child, Preschool Classes, and Level Classes. The Parent/Infant/Child classes are 30 minutes long and are for children younger than 3 who are joined by a parent or other adult caregiver. Preschool classes are for children ages 3-5 and are 30 minutes long. Level classes are for children 6 and up and are 45 minutes long. We also offer a competitive stroke class for competitive swimmers looking to improve the more technical aspects of their stroke. Competitive stroke classes are 60 minutes long. Listed below are the skills worked on in level and the requirements for students to complete to advance levels.
