The training class begins in May. This class trains you to teach swim classes. Completing our swim instructor training class results in a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification. Must be 15 years old by the last class. Pre-test is specified in the registration form.

Completion of our lifeguard training class results in a Red Cross Lifeguard certification. Several classes are offered, and all are at least 21.5 hours in length. All sessions of a class must be attended in order to be eligible to be certified. Please start applying for lifeguard jobs when you register for the lifeguard class. You do not need to be certified before you apply for a position. Pre-test is specified in the registration form.
Your Red Cross Lifeguard certification may not have been expired longer than 1 month to be eligible to take this 9-hour class. Several class options are offered. Both sessions of a class must be attended in order to be eligible to be certified.

Junior Lifeguard - To sign up for junior lifeguard classes, please enroll using the group swim lessons link on the lessons tab beginning May 12.
Junior guard classes offer students ages 11-14 an introduction to what it is like as a lifeguard and the opportunity to be assistant swim instructors. They are taught lifeguard water entries, standing and roving lifeguard skills, stroke improvement, and concession stand procedures.
